About Us

Guiding You Consulting Business Owner- About LUCY

I’m an Early Childhood Therapist, Educator and mum to a brilliant AuDHD son, who is home schooled due to years of ‘school can’t’. As a primary school teacher and principal with 20 years of experience, I came to recognise my own neurodivergence along the way and proudly have an adaptive, empathic and fast ADHD brain. I’m so passionate about supporting children to be the best they can be in environments where they thrive and learn. When leaving my role in education it led me to working and studying Behaviour Support and beginning my own company- Guiding You Consulting. In a whirlwind of running a business and learning a new occupation, my passion to learn more about neurodivergence continued. Over the past 3 years professional development and training has been pivotal in the growth of myself and G.Y.C.

Having a passion for making a difference and learning, I began researching best practice for neurodivergent children, their families and educators. I have completed parenting courses, social stencil facilitator training, collaborative and proactive solutions, enabling positive behaviour support professional development, autism up training, social attention and communication surveillance- preschool (SACs-PR) training, Pearson level B training to complete Sensory Profiles and other assessments.

In the craziness of life, I have decided to go back to university and study Masters of Autism and Neurodivergence. With my personal experience, professional training and as a member of the Victorian Institute of Teaching this allows me to educate, support and help children and their families. I maintain current Working with Children checks, mandatory reporting, NDIS workers clearance check.

Our therapists offer a multidisciplinary approach to support children families and their goals. Child centred tailored interventions for children aged 0-9, focusing on emotional, social, and developmental milestones. Engaging, age-appropriate activities and games to help children express themselves and develop essential skills.

Practical advice and strategies to empower parents and caregivers in supporting their child’s growth. Assistance to gain other supports such as Occupational Therapy, Dietitian, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy,

We visit children at home, school, kinder or at the park.

Early Years Therapist- Meet JO

My name is Jo, a proud mum to three awesome neurodivergent young people aged 14, 17 and 19. Through my own parenting journey, I’ve gained deep lived experience in the areas of Autism, ADHD, ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), and Sensory Processing challenges. These experiences have shaped not just who I am, but also how I support other families, genuinely, empathetically, and without judgement. Before stepping into the world of therapy and family support, I spent 18 years working professionally in law and finance, holding a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours. Over time, my heart pulled me in a different direction, one toward working more closely with children and families. I completed a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, and a Diploma of Community Services.

For three years, I worked in statutory child and family services, providing collaborative, strengths-based support to families, particularly in trauma-informed care and with children experiencing vulnerability and complex needs.

Now, as an Early Years Therapist I bring together my lived experience and professional training to walk alongside families navigating early childhood development, neurodivergence, and support systems. I’m currently studying a Master of Autism and Neurodivergence, with the goal of becoming a qualified Developmental Educator. I’m also a trained facilitator of the Social Stencil Program, which supports kids in building social understanding in a way that respects their individuality and neurodivergence.

I’m a registered member of Community Work Australia (CWA), Australia’s peak body for community practitioners. This membership recognises my qualifications and experience in therapeutic support and also ensures I meet full compliance with NDIS expectations for quality, safety, and ethical service delivery. I’m also a member of Early Childhood Intervention Australia (Victoria/Tasmania), and hold current Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening check.

I’m passionate about helping families feel seen, supported and empowered. My approach is grounded in compassion, connection and celebrating the unique strengths of every child.

Amy brings both professional expertise and lived experience of neurodiversity to her practice, shaping a deeply respectful, trauma-informed way of working. She creates calm, predictable spaces where children feel safe to explore, communicate, and lead at their own pace. Drawing on her understanding of the body, nervous system, and development, Amy supports children’s regulation, participation, and wellbeing in ways that are practical, gentle, and meaningful for everyday life.

Collaboration is central to Amy’s work. She partners closely with families, educators, and other professionals, and advocates for each child’s needs, strengths, and rights across settings. Her goal is to support children to be understood and supported in ways that truly fit who they are.

Early Years Therapist- Meet Kieran

Meet Kieran, an Early Years Therapist dedicated to supporting young children as they grow, learn, and discover their strengths. I hold a Bachelor of Arts specialising in Sports Development and Coaching, and I bring a movement‑focused, play‑based approach to every session. My background in sports and child development helps me create supportive environments where children feel confident to explore their abilities at their own pace.

I have worked across special school settings, as well as primary and secondary classrooms, supporting children with a wide range of neurodiverse needs. These experiences have shaped my belief that every child deserves tailored, compassionate support that honours their individuality and celebrates their progress.

To strengthen my practice, I’ve completed a range of professional learning including:

  • Interoception
  • Navigating Autism
  • Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention

These frameworks guide me in helping children understand their bodies, regulate emotions, build communication skills, and thrive in both learning and everyday environments.

Whether I’m incorporating movement, sensory exploration, coaching strategies, or visual supports, my goal is always the same: to empower children and their families with practical tools that make a meaningful difference.

I look forward to working alongside you and your child as we take positive steps forward—together.
