I’m an Early Childhood Therapist, Educator and mum to a brilliant AuDHD son, who is home schooled due to years of ‘school can’t’. As a primary school teacher and principal with 20 years of experience, I came to recognise my own neurodivergence along the way and proudly have an adaptive, empathic and fast ADHD brain. I’m so passionate about supporting children to be the best they can be in environments where they thrive and learn. When leaving my role in education it led me to working and studying Behaviour Support and beginning my own company- Guiding You Consulting. In a whirlwind of running a business and learning a new occupation, my passion to learn more about neurodivergence continued. Over the past 3 years professional development and training has been pivotal in the growth of myself and G.Y.C.
Having a passion for making a difference and learning, I began researching best practice for neurodivergent children, their families and educators. I have completed parenting courses, social stencil facilitator training, collaborative and proactive solutions, enabling positive behaviour support professional development, autism up training, social attention and communication surveillance- preschool (SACs-PR) training, Pearson level B training to complete Sensory Profiles and other assessments.
In the craziness of life, I have decided to go back to university and study Masters of Autism and Neurodivergence. With my personal experience, professional training and as a member of the Victorian Institute of Teaching this allows me to educate, support and help children and their families. I maintain current Working with Children checks, mandatory reporting, NDIS workers clearance check.
